I visited the park when I was younger, but the memories of this last visit are distant. Since then, the park has received many awards for its originality and creativity: "Best World Creation", "Best Park in the World", "Best European Event". The Tourist Office of Niort-Marais Poitevin offers the ticket office for the park, so I jumped at the opportunity. In addition, by booking seats in advance, we have certainly avoided the long line of people waiting in line for sunny days at the entrance.

Located in Les Epesses, in the department of Vendée, about 1h20 from the city of Niort, we decide to go on a day trip. When we arrived for the opening of the park at 9:30 am, we had no problem parking despite the very large crowd that day; the parking attendants know what they are doing! A small step to access the entrance gates and here we are inside.
In order to better organize your day, I advise you to take the time to look at the show schedules and make a program for yourself; it is printed every day and available at the entrance of the site. This will delay you by a few minutes, but you will see that they will be valuable if you want to see as many shows as possible.
The shows on offer are many and varied. They allow us to dive into different eras, from the ancient period to the First World War, including the Viking era, Joan of Arc and Richelieu. What is certain is that magic works every time! And we can only admire the work of the actors, artists, pyrotechnicians, stagehands, technicians and animals who contribute, each in their own way, to bringing us back to life the story revisited in the Puy du Fou way. It is definitely not a park like the others!
In addition to the incredible shows, villages have been set up in several areas: "Medieval City", "Fort of the year 1000", "Bourg 1900" and "Village 17th century". They are made up of several shops, but above all of craftsmen present to help you discover their know-how and ancestral customs. It is a good alternative for those who want to take a few minutes to stroll and rest.
The day was intense and extraordinary for our pupils and the highlight of the day was the Cinéscénie show. Located on a 23 hectare stage and a grandstand of almost 14,000 seats, this show is by far my favorite. Represented by approximately 3,900 Puyfolais volunteers, the story of a local family is staged in a monumental show, punctuated by special effects, lighting, music, songs, dances and pyrotechnic shows. The Cinéscénie lasts 1h40 and time seems short as there are so many things to discover!
Finally, throughout the park, you will find plenty to eat. There is something for everyone, from snacks to traditional restaurants. For the more playful, some of these restaurants even offer entertainment. I recommend this site to anyone who comes to spend time in the region. Today, I understand why he was awarded these distinctions and the public's enthusiasm for him.
Tips: Put on your shoes comfortably, because the park is quite large. In good weather, cover your head, as some shows are outdoors in the sun.
